Earlier in my posts, you'll see I made a tea cozy for my mom, who drinks a pot of tea every morning. I shipped this to her along with a trivet that matches (remember this--they match), slippers, and a couple of pair of socks for Dad all which I made for their Christmas gifts.
Mom calls last night to thank me for the gifts. She said she is wearing the slippers, but "the hat doesn't fit me!" I'm running a silent film in my head as fast as I can trying to recall a hat that I made and sent, but nothing comes to mind.
Ding Ding! "Mom! Mom! THAT is a TEA COZY!" She says, "a WHAT?" I repeat, "a Tea Cozy. For your morning pot of tea."
She says, "Well, Ben and Laura were over and she didn't know what it was either, but decided it was cute. Just a shame it wouldn't fit anyone. That makes sense, now! And I thought the brown pipe cleaners on the top were antennas!" Apparently, even my dad tried to wear it. Good Grief, Guys! "If you would have read my blog back in October, you would have known!," I whine, hurt to the core they didn't read my blog.
I thought the matching trivet would be a dead giveaway clue. I even put the plastic bag inside it with a handle hanging out of each opening for the teapot spout and handle.
I have the nuttiest family! Mom could make Scrooge giggle like a girl.
I hope Dad's feet are warm and Mom is enjoying a very hot pot of tea this morning!
G'day, and feel better! You are both loved so very, very much!
